Not sure if this is my fault or yours, not sure what debugging steps to take.
Further information:
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
installed from Ubuntu packages -> 0.5.0
Pointed the conference.conf into a directory with some MP3 files
Confluence could not start the MediaServer because there was no id3tag parser
made sure python-tagpy was properly loaded and all
Much messing about, no joy
Uninstalled Ubuntu package, picked up Conflucence-0.6.2 tarball.
python config.py install seemed to succeed.
Start seemed to succeed. Log says Confluence Mediaserver mediastore started
PS3 simply won't find it, search after search
Turned on more verbose logging. Don't see any requests from the PS3's IP address. See lots of connections from an IP address which is running SlimServer?.
The minimal web interface seems to be working and looks OK at a glance.
Machine in question is an AMD Phenom X4. 8G of memory. 64 bit.
PS3 system level 2.70. Didn't see anywhere anything special I would have to do on the PS3. The PS3 sees a WM11 uPNP server on the same network just fine.
Would have put this on your email list, but registration takes a long time and I'm a busy person. Busy enough to help you out with a report, though.
